So I've decided to start a blog....

The title of this post says it all.  After working in special education for over 14 years, I've decided to start a blog.  I have followed several hundred bloggers over the years and consider myself an expert at all things blogging........hahaha..........just kidding -- I'm not really sure how any of this works.  

One thing I do know is that people I work with are often telling me I should take more of a leadership role within special education and with the professional development of teachers.  I suppose if I could have my dream job -- it would be just that -- to mentor new special education teachers with everything from setting up their classroom, developing better organizational skills, managing their classrooms, IEP development (because let's face it -- college does NOT prepare you for your first IEP) to helping with paraprofessionals and modeling working with students and curricular instruction.  Who wouldn't want that job?!

Sadly, in this day and age when funding is scarce for education, it does not appear I will be able to have that job anytime soon.  So, I've decided to start a blog!  My hopes are (as cliche as it sounds) that if I am able to help just one person it will be worth it.  I don't guarantee that I will be posting every day or even every week for that matter.  Heck, I don't even guarantee it will always be good.  I just hope it will be worth it.
